I am pleased to announce that Workshare Professional is now compatible with Microsoft Office 2010!
Update: The latest release of Workshare Protect and Workshare Compare are also fully compatible with Office 2010
Working with Microsoft as a launch partner in 2007 and in 2010 has been an incredible experience. Access to the TAP team really helped increase product quality and kept our team on track to deliver a dependable product.
Through extensive engineering and Quality Assurance (QA) investments we were able to ensure the product would be fully compatible with the new Office 2010 platform within 90 days of its official release. For those of you wondering how much work that actually involves let’s just say the typical QA cycle involves 3,000 integration tests on 25 environments using 6,000 documents.
My hat goes off to our developers who put in a great effort to turn around a quality product extremely fast. To take advantage of Workshare’s new support for Microsoft 2010:
1. Ensure you meet the minimum system requirements listed here.
2. Install Workshare Professional 5.2 SR3 (build 9800.800)
3. Install the compatibility update for Microsoft Office 2010. A guide is available on the Learning Center to assist you with this process.
Once you complete these steps, your Workshare Professional software will be completely compatible with Microsoft Office 2010.
