Role: Senior Product Marketing Manager - Document Control
Department: Document Control Markets group
Reports to: GM Document Control Market Group
Location: US Headquarters in San Francisco
Travel: 1 week per month

Core Function:
Workshare is seeking an innovative, creative and technical product marketer who is skilled at bridging the gap between technology, markets and messaging. This individual will be critical in all go to market messaging and positioning for Workshare Document Control products & market segments.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Product Marketing efforts for the Document Control Business Unit.
  • Train & Educate our Field (sales, channel, partners) on WS DC solutions with its unique advantages relative to competition to accelerate sales growth.
  • Manage analyst (Gartner, Forrester, etc.) relationships who cover our market segment to ensure WS gets covered and recognized as a market leader.
  • Contribute to research and market requirement definition in context of competitive market factors.
  • Uncover and research and define latent market requirements.
  • Contribute to document control product business plans, including time-based commercial metrics for both planning and measurement activities.
  • Contribute to MRD (market requirements documents)
  • Define product messaging and positioning for products.
  • Define GTMs (go-to-market) strategies and associated tactics for content protection products.
  • Co-define channels and demand creation activities with corporate marketing in support of GTMs.
  • Define and execute new product launches that encompass all company functions, including management of launch planning processes.
  • Help with product pricing appropriate to market segments and geography; effectively communicate product pricing to sales & channels.
  • Help drive usability study programs, together with development group.
  • Develop and deliver product training and selling tools to marketing, sales and services groups.
  • Present and demonstrate product line to customers and partners, internally and at industry events
  • Track, monitor and communicate product commercial metrics.

Measurement:
The role will be measured on a combination of sales bookings and market share, with bonus payments related to achieving quarterly and annual goals in both measures.

Experience:
As many of the following as possible:
5+ years in marketing at small to mid size software companies including responsibility for:

  • Product Marketing, Messaging and Positioning
  • Solution development
  • Competitive analysis, research and vertical marketing
  • Enterprise Business Productivity & Compliance Solutions.
  • Proven team leader, functioning at senior levels of the organization.
  • Business Process or BI software company experience.

  • OUTSTANDING written and verbal communication skills including copy writing and editing
  • Strong strategic and analytic thinker with excellent execution skills
  • Technical enough to understand features and product functionality and translate to powerful messaging
  • Requires limited support staff

Education /Technical Skills Required:
As many of the following as possible:

  • Bachelor degree at credited institution
  • MBA or equivalent experience preferred
  • MS Office proficiency required
  • Marketing courses relevant to software industry
