Workshare was recognized as a company which joined the EF in the last 18 months and has developed an impactful and sustainable charitable program for both the company and the community. The company will be honored at the 11th Annual 'Powered by EF' reception on September 16 for its community efforts, including raising money to purchase solar lanterns for a village in Malawi in Africa as well as a successful e-waste drive. Since joining EF only 18 months ago, Workshare has raised over $4000 from employees plus $1000 of company matched funds through a global silent auction to benefit SolarAid, purchasing the lanterns for the African village. Additionally, employees showed their environmental commitment during an e-waste drive to benefit Goodwill, diverting four pallets of electronics from becoming landfill waste. "Since Workshare joined EF, they have shown outstanding enthusiasm and passion for addressing community issues, both locally and globally. By demonstrating ambition and actions around community involvement that are unique for a company of their size, they have earned the recognition that comes with being EF's 2010 Rookie of the Year," said Diane Solinger, Executive Director of EF.
