Workshare Announces Beta Program for Document and Email Management Solution for SharePoint 2010 Solution allows legal professionals to manage their matter-related documents and email from within Microsoft Office and Outlook San Francisco, CA, August 23, 2010 - Workshare, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and leading provider of document collaboration software, today announced the beta program for a new document and email management solution that extends the enterprise content management capabilities of Microsoft SharePoint 2010. Workshare will unveil the new solution at the International Legal Technology Association conference on August 23rd in Las Vegas. A growing number of law firms now take advantage of the new collaborative and document management features of both Microsoft Office and SharePoint 2010. Although SharePoint 2010 provides a scalable platform for a centralized document repository, many lawyers want to manage documents and email in a traditional law firm-centric way from within their own Office applications. Workshare addresses this need by allowing lawyers to access, file and manage matter-related documents and email using the same Microsoft Office tools they currently use to create, send and receive documents. "SharePoint is definitely a strategic direction for us and after seeing the Workshare solution, we are very excited about the possibilities," said David Michel, CIO for Burr & Forman LLP. "It is the best legal SharePoint front-end that we have seen thus far." Features of the legal-ready collaboration platform include:
"As SharePoint 2010 gets more attention in the market, including legal, we are excited with the Workshare offering which will accelerate the adoption and provide legal professionals the functionality they are accustomed to," said Jim Veraldi , executive vice president of Micro Strategies. Providing solutions to the legal community for more than twelve-years has provided Workshare with the expertise to deliver a solution that leverages the unique workflows required by legal professionals as well as the current legal document lifecycle. "SharePoint is beginning to gain traction as a DMS in the Legal Vertical. For adoption to accelerate, ISVs are needed to fill the functional gaps between SharePoint out-of-the-box and existing DMS offerings, and to take advantage of SharePoint functionality that goes beyond those offerings," said Marcus Bluestein, CTO, Kraft & Kennedy, Inc. "Workshare has a long history of understanding the needs of the legal community and is leveraging that experience in their new Workshare solution. We are excited to be working with Workshare on this offering." Workshare's solution provides a Microsoft-enabled front end, allowing legal professionals to manage their matter-related documents and email from within Microsoft Office and Outlook. "We designed our solution to not only extend the capabilities of SharePoint 2010, but also to integrate seamlessly with existing Workshare comparison, metadata cleaning, and PDF collaboration tools," said Scott Smull, CEO of Workshare. "This holistic approach reflects Workshare's commitment to providing powerful solutions that are easy to use and deliver the best possible user experience." Product Availability About Workshare
