Workshare's Data Leak Prevention Solution Achieves SAP Certification

Certified solution analyzes and protects confidential data and documents directly within SAP Infrastructure

SAN FRANCISCO AND LONDON - Oct. 8, 2008 - Workshare, a global leader in content protection and control, announced the industry's first SAP integrated data leak prevention solution. The company also announced a new partnership with CORISECIO that allows organizations to effectively protect confidential data and documents directly within the SAP infrastructure and processes.

Through integrated Workshare functionality, the solution can secure all applications and portals as well as office and mobile applications, helping to prevent confidential information from being spread unintentionally or inappropriately. The application integrates with SAP-based portals and web services built with SAP NetWeaver.

Workshare's data leak prevention solution utilizes CORISECIO software to analyze content as it is accessed through an SAP portal or directly through the SAP GUI. When the SAP portal is used, the HTTP traffic is filtered in the data stream, before it is shared remotely. If the information is accessed via the SAP GUI, the Workshare solution automatically scans applications and documents which are presented through the user interface. Depending on the enterprise security policy, the solution initiates the appropriate action, ranging from user notification of potential data leakage to automatically blocking information. Each organization is able to define and dynamically change its security policy and how documents are accessed through SAP.
