Johnson Stokes & Master Strengthens Enterprise-Wide Document Integrity Programme Hong Kong’s Largest Local Law Firm Adopts Workshare Professional 4 for Content Security and Risk Mitigation Hong Kong, 8 June, 2005—Johnson Stokes & Master (JSM), one of Asia’s leading commercial law firms, will roll out the Workshare Professional suite of products across its Asia offices, enterprise wide. The firm has strengthened its document integrity programme as it aims to mitigate risk around all documents and emails handled by each of its 750 employees. JSM required a solution that would make it easier for its employees to work with other people on documents, protect the firm from the inadvertent disclosure of sensitive information and was easy for its users to put into practice. With offices in China, Thailand and Vietnam, the implementation of Workshare Professional 4 will allow the firm’s lawyers and staff to securely assemble, review, and verify document content containing multiple languages such as English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. “Security and risk mitigation were the main reasons why we decided to enhance our Document Integrity programme with Workshare Professional 4. We all love the idea of living in a paperless world, but we also need to be very aware of the dangers and security risks that lurk within alternatives to paper,” commented David Ellis, Director of Operations and Partner, Johnson Stokes & Master. “With Workshare Professional we are able to significantly increase client confidence by practicing Document Integrity as part of our overall commitment to quality and client service. Our reputation for integrity and confidentiality is an essential part of our service offering. Our document integrity programme supports these values as well as increasing efficiency” With regulatory and compliance laws forcing businesses to report on and protect intellectual property, Workshare’s document integrity software provides a secure way to assemble, review, and verify document content. Workshare’s software provides reports on who emailed, viewed, or made changes to a document, providing a complete audit history which is stored with the master document at all times. "The integrity of a document and how secure the content remains is frequently overlooked as multiple document iterations are exchanged across internal departments and external organizations." said Andrew Pearson, General Manager APAC at Workshare, “As Asia’s world city, Hong Kong is one of the leading adopters of security technologies. It is important that Hong Kong and South East Asian companies recognise that document integrity solutions mitigate risk, saving companies from possible consequential financial damages and protecting their reputation”.
