WORKSHARE UNVEILS TRACE! V2—LATEST FREEWARE DISCOVERS PRIVACY AND COMPLIANCE VIOLATIONS IN MICROSOFT OFFICE DOCUMENTS

Alerts Users to Violations via Dynamic Document Audits on Websites, Folders and Email

San Francisco, Calif.—June 27, 2005—Workshare, the leading provider of document integrity solutions, today announced the immediate availability of TRACE! V2, a free meta-ware™ utility for Microsoft Office users that automatically alerts individuals to the risk levels in the documents they touch. This easy-to-use and simply installed personal protection tool discovers sensitive or inappropriate content, both visible and hidden, within their electronic documents. TRACE! V2 discovers content that violates federal regulations, corporate policy or personal privacy. TRACE! V2 runs continuous audits, alerting users to violations before they result in fines, adverse publicity, lost business and lawsuits.

TRACE! V2 directly addresses privacy and compliance regulations currently in law or pending US Federal and state legislation as well as other global national current and pending statutes. How TRACE! V2 Works

TRACE! V2 is the only product whose analysis combines document content with taxonomy, avoiding false alarms common in more generic and complex “content filtering” solutions. This capability can differentiate between the normally benign use of the word “confidential” in the document body versus its highly risky presence in document headers or footers. TRACE!
