SurfControl Chief Financial Officer Brings Industry Know-How to Workshare's Expansion

San Francisco, Calif.- January 18, 2006- Workshare, the leading provider of document integrity solutions, today announced that Simon Wilson has joined its board of directors. Wilson currently serves as chief financial officer and member of the board of directors for SurfControl, plc, the world leader in enterprise threat protection.

"Simon Wilson has helped make SurfControl a market leader in the content security market and brings a broad industry perspective to what security market public companies require," said Joe Fantuzzi, CEO of Workshare. "His experience in driving international growth both organically and via acquisition will accelerate Workshare to our next level of success. Simon's guidance will help Workshare further penetrate the document-centric segment of the emerging outbound content compliance market, which IDC forecasts to surpass $500 million by 2009."

Wilson joined SurfControl in 2000 and was appointed chief financial officer and member of its Board in 2001. During his term at SurfControl, Wilson led the company to become cash flow positive and profitable with one of the strongest balance sheets in the sector and led the acquisition of six technology companies. Wilson joined SurfControl from KPMG's U.S. Corporate Finance Practice, where he specialized in advising software and IT services companies on all aspects of domestic and cross-border acquisitions, sales, divestitures and financings.

"Workshare has established a clear and simple solution for businesses that want to protect the security and ensure the compliance of their most important documents," said Wilson. "Workshare software is deployed across hundreds of thousands of seats at major professional services, corporate and government organizations worldwide. I look forward to advising Workshare as it takes full advantage of the opportunities this market holds for its complete solution for the secure and compliant production and sharing of documents throughout their lifecycle."

Prior to KPMG, Wilson held a variety of finance director roles at subsidiaries of Misys plc after having spent five years with Ernst & Young.
