Workshare Announces Mounting Adoption of Workshare Protect

Leading Outbound Content Security Company Prevents Leaks for over 1000 Small to Large Organizations

San Francisco, Calif.-March 22, 2006 - Workshare, the leading provider of document integrity solutions, today announced record sales momentum for the company's outbound Content Security solutions. In calendar year 2005, Workshare saw widespread adoption of its outbound content security solutions, adding over 400 new customers for Workshare Protect and its policy enforced outbound content security capabilities, dwarfing the less than 100 new customers from all other content filtering competitors combined.

Among new enterprise customers, Workshare added global leaders in financial services, government, management consulting, legal, accounting and energy. These new customers bring the total number using the Protect solution to over 1000. Workshare's customer base includes more than 62 percent of the Fortune 1000, high-level government agencies and most of the top professional services firms across the globe. All of these organizations have seen the increasingly daunting challenge of the insider threat of information leakage from within their organizations. The wins demonstrate Workshare's increasing importance in industry segments under external regulations who manage risks via internal education and policies.

The rise in widespread document leaks on a national level has elevated the need for adoption of Workshare Protect to prevent the leaks from ever occurring. In fact, according to a recent IDC survey of 435 North American organizations, internal threats are now much more of a concern to large enterprise environments than external threats such as viruses, spam and spyware. Search Giant Google is the latest to join Merck, Westpac Bank, Bank of America, the White House and the CIA in posting sensitive data not meant for the public.

"The abundance of recent high-profile content leaks shows just how easy it can be for even the most powerful organizations to disclose confidential information," said Joe Fantuzzi, CEO and President of Workshare. "The release of hidden information in documents as well as leaks of consumer and company confidential information creates staggering losses in reputation, fines paid, competitive advantage and even share price losses. Email and document leaks further prove that companies need client and server technology like Protect for enforced outbound content security at both endpoint and network perimeters."

Workshare Protect is the industry-leading outbound content security solution that provides content filtering on privacy, intellectual property and financial disclosures; eliminates the risk of visible and hidden data leaks; provides on-demand and on e-mail PDF conversion, and document rights restriction. By implementing Workshare Protect, organizations have an integrated solution that Alerts, Blocks and Cures content before it leaves the perimeter.
