WORKSHARE DELIVERS TRACE ENTERPRISE NETWORK AND ENDPOINT RISK ASSESSMENT TOOLS TO IDENTIFY OUTBOUND CONTENT RISKS
Powerful New Appliance and Client Software Alerts Organizations to Violations and
Provides Rapid and Comprehensive Risk Audits
San Francisco—May 22, 2006 - Workshare today announced the immediate availability of the Workshare Trace Enterprise Network risk assessment appliance and Trace Enterprise Client software—a powerful set of tools that provide users with visibility into outbound content security risks to help prevent any confidential or sensitive information from leaking outside the organization.
Workshare Trace Enterprise Network, a risk assessment appliance, deploys at the network gateway and monitors real-time data in motion over outbound email and web traffic for a term of two days to two weeks. Workshare’s Trace Enterprise Endpoint risk assessment software analyzes both data at rest and historical data in motion over a sampling of end-users and systems, from one to hundreds. The client software can be run on a sample of machines as an installed executable, or can be run directly off of a USB drive.
Both the appliance and the endpoint software are pre-configured with standard content security polices for privacy, finance and intellectual property disclosure and hidden data risk and allows customers to customize the policies to match corporate content security concerns. Both tools are built on Workshare’s Content Hygiene technology and, combined, provide the industry’s only comprehensive endpoint and network-based risk assessment.
Key features of Workshare Trace Enterprise Network and Endpoint include:
- Plug and play, seamless installation and risk-free, non-intrusive deployment
- Processing of over 370 file types for content violations over multiple channels
- Prepackaged risk reports with both summary trend reporting and detailed information on individual violations
- Exporting of summary data in common formats for external processing, reporting and data consolidation.
The risk assessment appliance and endpoint software are deployed at the customer’s site with the assistance of Workshare and its Integrity Partners as part of a formal Workshare Risk Assessment Service ( www.workshare.com/go2/risk-assessment/ ). The assessment identifies risk levels and recommends policy to manage and mitigate risk. As part of the risk assessment, Workshare’s partners will provide a recommendation on how to use Workshare products to eliminate the discovered risk. Companies looking for a way to cure information leakage at their organization can deploy the Workshare Protect Enterprise Suite, a unified network and endpoint outbound content security solution that Alerts users to risky content, Blocks sensitive information from escaping from established perimeters, and Cures confidential content as it leaves the company over electronic channels.
“According to research just completed by The INSIGHT Advantage, nearly 60 percent of those responsible for outbound content security are unsure of the number of information leaks occurring in their organization,” said Ken Rutsky, executive vice president, worldwide products and marketing for Workshare. “Workshare Trace Enterprise Network and Endpoint provide the most robust toolset in the market for our customers to quickly measure the level of their risk and understand what policies and technologies are needed to manage this risk.”
