Risk Assessment Process

The Workshare Risk Assessment is a proven service that provides insight into the risks that exist within your organization’s outbound content. It is part of our “Five Steps to Content Security” methodology, a best practice guide designed to help organization’s understand the risks they are exposed to and put in place the policies and audit procedures to help ensure information leaving their organization is safe and secure.

There are four stages to the Workshare Risk Assessment:

  • Plan the Assessment
  • Perform the Assessment
  • Data Analysis
  • Deliver Recommendations

Risk Assessment Tools:

We have two assessment tools for you to utilize. Depending on the environment you would like to test, one or both may be an appropriate option.

TRACE! Endpoint
Workshare TRACE! Endpoint analyzes both data-at-rest and historical data-in-motion over a sampling of end-users and systems, from several to hundreds. The client software can be run on a sample of machines as an installed executable, or can be run directly off of a USB drive.
TRACE! Network
Workshare TRACE! Network, a risk assessment appliance, deploys at the network gateway and monitors real-time data-in- motion over outbound email and web traffic for a term of two days to two weeks. The appliance is easy to deploy, risk-free, and secure.

Workshare Trace ApplianceDuring the risk assessment period customers will have visibility into their outbound content security risks in an enterprise security dashboard report. The report will list out such information as polices triggered, documents in motion, security risks, etc.



TRACE! Network can be used in standalone or in conjunction with TRACE! Endpoint for a full endpoint and network risk assessment
