What are the differences between Workshare Professional, Workshare Compare and Workshare Compare Basic?

Workshare Professional (version 5.1 and upwards) and Workshare Compare (version 5.2 SR2) can compare text-based PDFs. For scanned (image based) PDF's it is possible to compare the file(s), if they have been run through a conversion process called OCR (Optical Character Recognition), and the document(s) are therefore text based and searchable. If not converted, the scanned image will not compare accurately. Please keep in mind that these PDF files must contain searchable, OCR text and not contain any graphics or images. If you are unsure, open the PDF document with Adobe Reader and try to do a search on a keyword. If it finds it in the document, then most likely it contains text. For further information about Workshare's OCR server, which converts the information in image based PDFs into text based documents, please click here. Workshare Compare Basic does not contain functionality to compare PDF files. Can Workshare software compare PowerPoint or Excel files?
