Workshare today announced that its Workshare collaboration platform was named a finalist for the 2013 SIIA Content CODiE Awards for Best Legal Information Solution.
10 JANUARY 2013, London, UK - Workshare, a leading provider of secure enterprise collaboration applications, today announced that its Workshare collaboration platform was named a finalist for the 2013 SIIA Content CODiE Awards for Best Legal Information Solution.
Serving as the pre-eminent awards program for the software and information industries, the SIIA CODiE Awards have been honoring excellence for 27 years. This year’s program has 75 categories organized by industry focus in Content, Education and Software.
Finalists in the Content categories represent the best products, technologies, and services created by or for media, publishers, and information services providers. CODiE Award winners will be announced during a special luncheon on January 31 in New York City during the SIIA’s annual flagship conference for information industry leaders, IIS 2013: Breakthrough.
Workshare’s collaboration platform allows individuals to create, share and manage high-value content anywhere, on any device. Featuring Workshare’s market-leading comparison technology, it enhances collaborative efficiency by enabling content owners to accurately track and compare changes from contributors simultaneously.
Through software that integrates with Microsoft productivity applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Workshare solutions can highlight changes and remove hidden data from attachments before they are emailed or shared via a mobile device or in the cloud, reducing the risk of inadvertently sharing sensitive information hidden in documents. With a robust set of security and permission settings, IT administrators can ensure attachments are protected by centrally managed, highly-customizable policy settings that can:
- Replace attachments with a PDF version or a secure link to the document online with access permissions and expiration dates.
- Remove notes, comments and metadata, depending on the appearance of sensitive terms or redacted text in the document content.
Through integrations with document management systems (DMS) such as SharePoint and iManage, detailed audit trails of document changes and review activities can be held even while documents and reviewers are outside of the firewall and the control of the DMS. In this way, Workshare allows professionals to continue to use applications and workflows that they are used to, while adding comparison and protection to a rich set of review and collaboration features.
“With Workshare’s application suite, legal firms can collaborate securely with instant synchronization across multiple applications, powerful document comparison features, and the strongest permissions and policy controls,” said Ali Moinuddin, CMO of Workshare. "For an industry that works with highly-sensitive data, extending their secure collaborative ecosystem beyond the firewall is absolutely essential.”
“The CODiE Awards competition was extremely competitive this year with a record number of innovative products and solutions competing,” said Kathy Greenler Sexton, VP & General Manager for the Content Division at SIIA. “All of our CODiE Awards finalists should be commended for their innovation and market-leading products and services.”
