March 2, 2017, London: Workshare, the high stakes document company, has responded to clients’ data residency requirements by introducing greater flexibility into its platform.

Now the data stored by individual users can be assigned to a specific Workshare-approved geographic location or a client’s own private location. Any new file or versions of a file uploaded by that user are then stored in that specified location.

“Global clients who have offices in multiple regions need to be able to store data in distinct regions for regulatory, customer policy and performance reasons.” says Ben Ridgway, Workshare product manager. “Our data residency solution means clients can select different storage locations for individual users, giving them greater flexibility and ensuring compliance.” concludes Ben.

The default Workshare storage location is in Dublin, Ireland. Depending on their entitlement, Workshare clients can now change this location to multiple secure Workshare-approved geographic locations and/or specify their own private or on-premise data storage locations.
